Game news Killer Instinct: Towards a Return of the License on Xbox? Phil Spencer answers
Recently, the Dropped Frames podcast had the pleasure of welcoming Microsoft’s Xbox Product Manager Phil Spencer as a guest. The twists and turns of the various conversations mentioned a license that we had very little news of since its reboot in 2013.
When the Xbox One launched in 2013, Microsoft decided to decorate it with a fighting game, Killer Instinct.
During the Dropped Frames podcast, eight years after the game was released, Phil Spencer shared his opinion and that of the Xbox team on the Killer Instinct license. A success that brought them good feedback from the players at the time.
There are so many great games in our catalog that we’d love to review. The feedback we got when we restarted Killer Instinct when the Xbox One hit the market has been fantastic. – Phil Spencer, Xbox Game Studios director and Xbox subsidiary product manager
Since then he has been on the subject with colleague Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, because the license still has a firm place in the hearts of the Xbox teams.
We (him and Matt Booty) have talked a lot about Killer Instinct and where we’d like to go with the license. – Phil Spencer, Xbox Game Studios director and Xbox subsidiary product manager
But whether this urge leads anywhere Phil Spencer justifies the lack and gives some details.
It’s about finding the right team and the right opportunity. But it is not due to a lack of pleasure on our part.
