The long-standing role play Neverwinter is far from over and is being supplied with fresh material by the creators. Now with “Sharandar” the next expansion is already in the starting blocks.
Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have now announced that the first of a total of three planned episodes of “Sharandar” will be available in a few weeks. Initially, the release on the PC will take place via Steam, Epic Games Store and Arc; you will be able to strike here on February 9, 2021. Console gamers have to wait a little longer, because the release is not scheduled for a month later on March 9, 2021.
In the latest expansion for the free-to-play MMORPG, you return to the eponymous land of Sharandar, which was already the setting in the first expansion for the game called “Fury of the Feywild”. However, there you are allowed to explore a new designed world.
Each of the three episodes will expand “Sharandar” with fresh and new features. These include a new hub, story content, adventure zones, new enemies, a new endgame dungeons and much more.
What is it thematically about? In the add-on, a disturbing darkness is coming over the Feywild and the ancient elven fortress Sharandar. Malevolent creatures kill those foolish enough to venture into the areas that were once ruled by the Fomor king Malabog. Rumor has it that deep in the dark forests an ancient fairy is planning to conquer Sharandar together with the remains of Malabog’s servants in order to acquire the arcane secrets hidden there.
This plot is told across all three episodes. The first episode is called “The Iron Tooth”; here you will be sent to the ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. The new Hub New Sharandar as well as the first adventure zone and the endgame dungeon “Vault of the Stars” are already on board with epic rewards.
The other episodes are then called “The Soul Keeper” and “The Abominable Court”; these are currently not yet specifically dated.
