The last noteworthy firmware update for the Switch was a while ago. With the jump to the system version 10.0.0 there are finally a few new features that are even worth mentioning. Among other things, they relate to data transfer from micro-SD cards and configurations of key assignments.
Above all, the new possibility of data transfer between system memory and the SD card should be mentioned. Game data, updates and DLCs can now be transferred from one medium to another. This will make it much easier to organize other storage. However, the Switch does not get one of the most requested features, because this new function does not include memory data. These are still saved exclusively in the system or the cloud. For the current reason, this means above all that your animal crossing savegame is still tied to the system. Nintendo points out that "some update data" may not be transferable.

Another great feature that comes with 10.0.0 is the ability to reassign the buttons on the controller. However, this is only possible for Joy-Con and official Pro controllers. Up to five configurations can be saved in this way.
Smaller innovations include a bookmark system for the news area and half a dozen new account icons from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
