Time and again in the past there has been a revamped Switch version, commonly called Switch Pro. A dataminer now claims to have found out more technical details regarding the display of the new console.
Speculation about a Switch Pro didn’t just pick up since a Bloomberg report last August. Again and again rumors made the rounds in this regard and now with SciresM a well-known data miner is reporting with supposedly new information.
He took apart the firmware of the console and discovered alleged evidence of an upcoming Pro model. Accordingly, SciresM assumes that the improved switch console will have 4K graphics in the future. The platform, which is to be codenamed Aula internally, supports a Realtek chip, which is itself advertised as a “4K UHD multimedia SoC”, which is why it derives the 4K functionality for a Switch Pro. However, this is not a confirmation that this will really happen, especially since an official confirmation of the work on such a drilled console is still pending.
The tablet itself should also be revised and, above all, get a better display. According to the Dataminer, this should then be an OLED screen; however, the resolution of this screen should not increase compared to the previous resolution. The 4K functionality should therefore be reserved for the docking mode. At least: a handheld mode is still on board, detached from the docking mode; The Switch Pro should also be able to be used on the go.
The Dataminer report also states that the battery life of the new Switch Pro should be “substantially” better, as should the cooling behavior. Games should probably be played in an optimized form. SciresM compare this with the earlier “DSi enhanced” or similar procedures such as Sony with regard to PS4 and PS4 Pro.
Of course, all of this is just a rumor, which is why you should accept this as such until Nintendo really expresses itself. We’ll keep you up to date!
