Sony has “retired” its Killzone official franchise site, and now anyone who clicks on the site can go to the generic PlayStation website.
If someone goes to the guerrilla official Kill zone On the website, only messages from Sony will be received and redirected to PlayStation.com.
“The official website of the Killzone franchise has been retired,” the guerrillas said in a statement on the newly cleared website. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. […] Thanks to the many fans and visitors of Killzone.com for their enthusiasm and support over the years. “
Seven years after the last game in the series came out, Sony seems to be temporarily preparing to move on from the series.
After all, the developer Guerrilla Games is currently doing it. Between the great success of Horizon Zero Dawn and the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West, the studio can be said to be the current reason to get rid of the franchise.
It is worth noting that the deletion of the website will have some impact on the online elements of the two latest games in the series, although the multiplayer games themselves will not be affected.
“This change will not affect the online multiplayer game mode, player statistics or ranking data for “Killzone Mercenaries” and “Killzone Shadow Collapse”, but it is no longer possible to create or manage tribes in “Killzone Shadow Collapse” ,” the message on the website said.
Once upon a time, Killzone was the flagship brand of PlayStation and was released on PS2, PS3, PS4 and handheld PlayStation consoles.
Sony has yet to make any official statements about the future of the brand, but at the time of writing, it has not officially announced the future Killzone project.
