After yesterday’s non-descriptive PS5 update, today we got a new firmware PS4.
Firmware 8.01 was released about an hour ago, and you won’t be surprised to learn that we actually don’t know what changes it made to the console. Usually, “This system software update can improve system performance” is our only patch note.
Today’s update is also available in the usual size of 470MB, if left in “rest mode”, it should be automatically downloaded and installed on your console. Otherwise, the next time you open the console, you will be prompted to download it.
