Bleeding Edge is one of many games launched on Game Pass and its paid versions, and this is changing the way it is designed.
Bleeding edge This is the next game of Ninja Theory. To be released at the end of March, class-based multiplayer battle games will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the first day, such as the previous Gears 5.
As a result, developer Ninja Theory wants to make a good first impression of the types of players who don't know it yet. "At the moment, we have a fair amount of focus on the experience of new players," creative director Rahni Tucker told Gamesindustry.
"Compared to our direct sales of games, joining game passes will change."
Due to the nature of game passes, Ninja Theory cannot guarantee that everyone who jumps in will be familiar with multiplayer action games, even class-based, goal-based games. That's why Bleeding Edge needs to convey certain aspects of its design in a way that players will understand.
She said: "(…) If you entered the game through Game Pass, maybe you don't know much about this type of game, then entering the game may be a bit difficult."
"Maybe (those players) don't know all the buttons, maybe they don't know how the game mode works, so we are working hard to keep this in mind and make sure new players join the game."
Bleeding Edge includes a tutorial and a Dojo that will allow you to accept AI-controlled characters, and Ninja Theory hopes they will smooth the initial learning curve.
Bleeding Edge will be available on PC and Xbox One on March 24. From now on, Ninja Theory will have limited beta testing.
