The remake of Resident Evil 3 will be released at the beginning of April and will also include the new multiplayer part Resident Evil Resistance. Incidentally, this has very little to do with the canon of the horror franchise.

The resident evil franchise has produced numerous offshoots over the past few years, each of which can be categorized into the events of the horror brand and deal with any historical part in this context. The Resident Evil 3 remake including Resident Evil Resistance will soon be released, but the completely new multiplayer cannot really be classified in the timeline of the franchise.
Capcom has now confirmed this in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine in the person of producer Peter Fabiano. According to Fabiano, certain events within the asymmetrical 4-vs-1 multiplayer "could not be fitted into the current timeline".
Instead, the new addition is simply a "fun online experience with some connections to the RE universe" – nothing more and nothing less. Theref ore, resistance generally fits into the franchise. However, real fans do not need to expect larger connections to Resident Evil 3, other series parts or the overarching horror story.
Resident Evil 3 Remake will be available on April 3, 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One; Resident Evil Resistance – formerly known as Project Resistance – will then be included as a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode.
