New details arise about the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake which is being developed by Aspyr Media according to an inside gaming source.
Rumour: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake in the Works
The iconic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic apparently is getting a remake, and is currently in development. Rumours of the remake have been floating around since January of this year, but according to industry insider Jason Schreier from Game Rant, that remake is a reality.
The game is said to be in development under Aspyr Media, the same studio that worked on the mobile ports of the original, which include Mac, Android and iOS. This was revealed in an interview between Game Rant and Jason Schreier who confirmed “Yes, there is something there”. He also goes on to say “I’ve basically confirmed that Aspyr, which is the company that has ported a bunch of KOTOR games, is working on a remake”.
If that wasn’t enough, Aspyr Media recently shared in a stream that they were working on a project based on an existing IP, which could very well mean KOTOR.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is an RPG classic that released in 2003, and was set 4,000 years before the original Star Wars trilogy. Taking on the role of a mysterious Jedi, who travels across the galaxy trying to defeat Darth Malak. In their travels, the Jedi begins to put together a crew to help his quest. What’s great about this title is that players actually get to choose whether they join the Light or the Dark Side of the force, which is determined by their in-game decisions. The game was originally developed by BioWare and published by LucasArts.
While this seems to be pointing in the direction of the remake being true, Aspyr Media have yet to comment on whether they are actually working on the remake. We of course will keep an eye on this exciting rumour.
