The Nintendo Switch is a hit worldwide. It has not been a surprise to anyone for a long time. What can always come as a surprise, however, is that this success has also reached areas that, historically, have historically been less receptive to Nintendo products. The surprising statistics of the day come to us from the report as soon as it is not customary Twitter
In the UK last year If you add up every PS5 sold, every PS4 sold, every Xbox series sold, every Xbox One sold … you get roughly the number of Nintendo Switch sold. Although the PS4 and Xbox One were in decline before the pandemic began, and the PS5 and Xbox Series X | S arrived in relatively limited quantities at the end of the year, this result is no less impressive and this once again underscores the immense popularity of the Nintendo console.
The same in 2021?
It is now possible to ask multiple questions. How would that result have been any different if Sony and Microsoft had managed to bring as many next-generation consoles to market as they wanted?
And if the stock problems, among which PS5 and Xbox Series X | S currently suffering, improve in the end, the company in Kyoto can repeat this achievement? Note that the Switch and next generation consoles don’t sell for the same price (the new machines are logically more expensive).
And what about a possible marketing of the Switch Pro? Will the latter allow Nintendo to continue riding the wave of popularity currently enjoyed by its consoles? Impossible to say at the moment.
The fact that the health crisis is lingering combined with the difficulties in delivering PS5 and Xbox Series X | S that UK retailers are currently facing should definitely continue to play in favor of Nintendo, at least in the short term.
What do you think of this statistic? Does she surprise you? Can Nintendo do at least as well in the UK in 2021? If so, under what conditions? Do you think France is in a similar situation? Tell us everything in the comments below.
