PlayStation has announced the closure of Manchester Studio, developer who took care of working in virtual reality games. As they have communicated to GamesindustrySony claims that the decision is based on the improvement of efficiency and operational effectiveness. None of his workers will be relocated to other Sony studios since his work is considered to have "become redundant." The study was formed in 2015 as North west studio
Sony continues its closure of studies in the United Kingdom. Manchester Studio are joined by Guerrilla Cambridge and Evolution Studios. These studios were also developing VR games, which gives thinking about the position of the Japanese company in this regard. It has been made clear that VR will continue to be supported but it is likely that they want to see how their performance will be in the new generation of consoles before betting 100% on this model. This only leaves two studies of the company in the country: Half Molecule
You can only trust that Manchester Studio will soon find a new company for which to develop video games and remain as short as possible without jobs as well as the triumph of Dreams for Sony to continue betting on the creation of studies, projects and jobs in the English country.
