Sony has confirmed that there will not be another event this year.
E3 was skipped before E3 was officially cancelled, and other events were withdrawn at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, such as GDC. Sony has now confirmed that it has not participated in this year's Brazil Game Show.
PlayStation Brazil's official Twitter released this news earlier today, which disappointed fans. The 2020 Brazil Game Show will be held from October 8 to 12.
"After a long evaluation, Sony Interactive Entertainment decided not to participate in the Brazil Game Show 2020. We ca n’t wait to interact with Brazilian fans and announce exciting events before the end of the year," the translator said. Statement read.
Sony Interactive Entertainment will qualify for the Brazilian Game Show 2020.

The Brazil Game Show may not have the influence of E3 or gamescom, but it is still one of the largest events in Latin America and is held in the largest market in the region. Although the Brazil Game Show is another event that Sony will skip this year, which is indeed disappointing, the more interesting implication is that platform holders may not view early October as a realistic time to resume normal operations.
Since Sony seems to be arranging all major events, it is unclear when / where the company will move next. A recent report indicated that the PS5 disclosure event may be held next month, but as the coronavirus situation continues to develop, this situation may also change.
