Hardware news Steam Deck: The Steam Big Picture Interface is doomed to disappear
The Steam Deck has been the center of the news since it was announced and Valve continues to be phased out in line with the company’s interventions. Today, the focus is on the console interface, especially the big picture.
If you’re using Steam, you’ve probably tried this mode before. It was launched in 2012 and completely transforms the support interface into one easier to operate remotely and with a controller. For the Steam Deck, Valve will be heavily redesigning the menus, and this will have a remarkable consequence. Ultimately, the portable console interface replaces Big Picture mode
Is the Steam Deck operating system the next step for Big Picture? Everything looks so out of date compared to the UI we have now and I would like most of the functionality to be carried over from Big Picture Mode which is pathetically out of date.
Yes, we will be replacing Big Picture with the new Deck UI. We don’t have a deployment window to announce yet.
