Steam release date announced: Since Borderlands 3 was launched, gamers have been eagerly awaiting the Steam launch. Now it is clear: on March 13th it will be ready. This was announced by developer Gearbox at the PAX East games fair. The studio originally scheduled the date for April, so the release has been postponed for a few weeks.
Crossplay possible: The developers also confirmed that crossplay between Steam and Epic will be possible. Now you can also loot with your friends – regardless of which store you bought the game from. Borderlands 3 originally appeared exclusively in the Epic Games Store, which annoyed many players and led to extreme review bombing of its predecessors on Steam.
New Cthulhu DLC & free updates
Lovecraft DLC announced: The developers also showed gameplay of the second of four major story DLCs for Borderlands 3 for the first time (see above). It is called “Guns, Love and Tentacles” and will be released on March 26th for all platforms.
New game world: The story expansions take us to a new planet called Xylourgos, where we want to celebrate the wedding of the characters Hammerlock and Wainwright known from the main game. Before we know it, we shoot our way through a whole horde of cultists and tentacle monsters in Cthulhu style.
New loot: In addition to the new story, there are of course new weapons and equipment that you can unlock in the course of the DLC. The expansion is chargeable, but owners of the Season Pass and the Super Deluxe Edition will already have access.
Roadmap: Here's how
Whether the new expansion will do as well as Moxxi's attack on the Handsome Jackpot, the game's first major DLC, will be revealed from March 26. The team also gave a small outlook into the future of free updates:
The spring roadmap includes many free endgame content and in-game events, You can get a full overview of the content update in the official developer post.
By the way: Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford recently confirmed that a Borderlands film will come from hostel director Eli Roth.
