We regularly tell you about the work done by the talented moderator Kaze Emanuar from a mule version of Super Mario 64. This time, we are talking about a project of a completely different kind. Indeed, developers have created a real PC version of the cult Nintendo 64 game.

The site VGC reports that a PC port of Super Mario 64 has recently been posted. The development of this game was completed by developers who used a reverse engineering project of the original source code of the game made by fans in 2019.
This version of Super Mario 64 therefore does not require an emulator to operate, runs on DirectX 12 and is compatible with various current technologies such as native 4K resolution, or ultra large screens. This game also allows you to use the Reshade application, which makes the launch game of the N64 compatible with ray tracing.
In any case, it's a safe bet that this amateur portage does not delight Nintendo. Especially since the rumor says that the Japanese manufacturer is preparing to market on Switch a remastered version of Super Mario 64 as part of the 35th anniversary of Super Mario.
