One of the playable factions ofAge of Empire IV is that of the Abbasids. An Arab-Muslim empire that ruled the Muslim world from AD 750 in 1258. Under this dynasty in particular, the focus of Islam gradually shifted from Syria to Iraq, especially the new capital of the empire: Baghdad.
A whole new faction
In AoEIV, this faction has camel drivers in particular as special units (not to be confused with the Turkish and Egyptian Mamluks arriving later). In addition to the building, the Abbasids in particular own the House of Wisdom, which features a golden age mechanism to boost the production of other buildings.
In the Muslim world, a house of wisdom was an institution that combined science (math, astronomy, etc.), art (poetry), philosophy, and even health. Hence its logical use in the game to encourage development.
Age of Empire IV is still planned for October 28th on PC.
