This is what developers & journalists say about the tech demo

The surprising announcement of Unreal Engine 5 by developer Epic Games has made waves in the past few days. Real NextGen graphics can be seen in the tech demo (see embedded video above) that was calculated on a pre-production model of the PlayStation 5. And it really knows how to impress, according to the unanimous tone on the net. But how do the professionals see it?

In the following, we therefore collect the impressions and opinions of game developers, specialist journalists and other heads of the industry:

Geoff Keighley: "Just imagine the future of games"

Well-known Canadian video game journalist and moderator of the Game Awards Geoff Keighley has more than just one console or platform in mind. For him, the Unreal Engine 5 is groundbreaking for the entire industry and the tech demo is a first look at what we can look forward to in the future.

Phil Spencer: "Incredible Work by Epic"

Head of Microsoft's entertainment division and Xbox boss Phil Spencer is apparently excited about the Unreal Engine 5

. The same applies to the XGS studios, such as Ninja Theory, who should be able to wait to implement the new UE5 technologies on the Xbox Series X.

Asher Einhorn: "This is mind blowing"

Game designer Asher Einhorn from the American studio Naughty Dog, which is behind titles like Uncharted and The Last of US, is speechless about the tech demo. "Did you see that?" He asks in astonishment and ends with "is damn good".

Gronkh: "Hoooooly Shit"

You don't really need to go into the title or Gronkh in more detail. "Hoooooly Shit" says it all and as a Youtuber Gronkh is nothing less than an institution in Germany. Beyond the "holy shit" he is happy, this "Great time" for game development to be allowed to experience.
