THQ Nordic: Brand Swap: New Risen and Sacred Possible?

Geralt of Sanctuary May 6, 2020 No Comments

THQ Nordic and Koch Media are rearranging the gaming brands. Well-known brands such as Risen or Red Faction were shoveled in an extensive trade.

THQ Nordic and Koch Media have exchanged a whole bunch of well-known brands in an extensive deal, which could indicate that one or the other name could appear in new announcements.

Koch Media received the rights to Red Faction and Painkiller, while THQ Nordic received the rights to Risen, Sacred, Rush for Berlin, Second Sight and Single: Flirt Up Your Life. According to a press release, THQ Nordic wants to immediately evaluate whether and what is suitable for remasters, porting, sequels or new content.

The brand swap makes sense in many ways. THQ Nordic took over the Risen developer studio Piranha Bytes last year and now also has the rights to their last title, Risen. Red Faction, on the other hand, is in good hands with Koch Media because its developer studio Volition is already working under Koch Media.

We are excited to see if and what we can expect. Would you like a new Risen or Red Faction?
