There is no doubt that this year's Tokyo Game Show Conference will not be held.
Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2020, Originally scheduled to be held from September 24-27, due to coronavirus, no sporting events will be held this year. TGS organizers revealed that, however, there are plans to host online events at their locations.
Since its establishment in 1996, this is the first time in the history of TGS and the event has been cancelled. In today's announcement, no details about the above digital replacement were disclosed.
Although disappointing, this news is not really shocking. Most major events in games and other fields have been cancelled this year. Just this week, the organizers of the Paris Game Week confirmed that they will not return this year.
The two largest industry events, E3 2020 and gamecom 2020, have been cancelled, not to mention many other smaller gatherings such as EVO.
It is also disappointing that TGS is essentially the last major industry event of this year and was cancelled in the game console release year, but this is an unprecedented situation.
