Lara Croft officially celebrates her comeback in a new Tomb Raider and is apparently also returning to the playful roots of the franchise.
Square Enix has officially announced that with Tomb Raider Reloaded, a new part of the successful action franchise around the archaeologist Lara Croft is in the works. However, this is not a new console title.
Rather, Tomb Raider Reloaded is a free-to-play mobile game in which Lara Croft does the honor again. A first teaser reveals that Lara can be seen halfway cuddly in her classic outfit. Her well-known pistols are also evident, as are many other borrowings from the original game from 1996. In short: Lara Croft is apparently returning to her roots in the video game sector more than recently.

Aside from the teaser trailer, there aren’t many more details yet. It is only certain that the game will belong to the action arcade genre, will appear exclusively for mobile, will be free-to-play and will be developed by Emerald City Games. This development studio was previously responsible for GI Joe: War on Cobra and Lionheart Tactics, for example.
The release of Tomb Raider Reloaded is planned for the coming year 2021. Other mobile spin-offs of the franchise previously appeared with Lara Croft: Relic Run or Lara Croft GO.
