As far as video games are concerned, the classic twisted metal game series has become rather quiet in recent years. Instead, a different implementation is now making itself heard.
The first reports came in 2019, and a TV series based on the classic video game brand Twisted Metal has since received the green light. According to the latest reports, production is progressing accordingly and loudly Variety
Sony Pictures Televsion and PlayStation Productions are promoting the TV series as action comedy and have now been able to win well-known writers for the project. Namely Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are already responsible for the successful Deadpool films as well as for the humorous “Zombieland”. These are supposed to contribute the script for the twisted metal series and also act as executive producers.
In terms of story, you can expect a gang of car crackers including a thief who has to deliver a rather mysterious package in a post-apocalyptic world. The iconic character Sweet Tooth will also make an appearance in this context. Overall, the plot should stay pretty close to the original game.
