Valorant's beta is on and players who could get a key via Twitch-Drop are already trying out the new tactical shooter from LoL developer Riot Games. From summer 2020, Valorant wants to convince as many players as possible with the Free2Play model, low hardware requirements and a harmless cartoon look. Now the question arises for many players and parents: is the game suitable for young people?
How many years has Valorant been approved?
Despite the colorful comic look, Valorant is released from the age of 16. This is the classification of the USK, a voluntary organization of the computer game industry in Germany, which awards state-recognized age labels. Valorant is therefore not a game for children, but is recommended for players from adolescence.

How do comparable games perform?
With the rating »from 16«, Valorant falls into the same category as the obvious model Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The reasons for the classification are more obvious here: Counter-Strike uses graphically realistic appearance
Valorant, on the other hand, comes in a comic graphic and also contains clear fantasy elements with the supernatural abilities. But that alone is not enough to get approval for younger age groups. After all Valorant definitely shows blood effects on hits
More first person shooters with USK-16 approval:
For comparison: The comic shooter Fortnite is released by the USK from 12 years. Here developer Epic completely dispenses with blood and the bodies of killed players disappear immediately. This may be some of the reasons why the USK Valorant and Fortnite rate so differently in terms of age ratings.
