WoW Shadowlands: Guide for beginners and returnees

That happens in Shadowlands after release

The first big raid of WoW Shadowlands goes live two weeks after the release, damn on December 9, 2020. Here we end up in the Revendreth region, more precisely to Nathria Castle – the headquarters of the tyrannical ruler Count Denathrius. We have already summarized all the important information about the raid for you.

The raid will keep players busy for around three months before an as yet unknown raid the endgame will expand. However, in the interview, Hazzikostas already revealed a first, cool detail that definitely arouses curiosity:

“The Encounter team is already working on the next raid. So far I can only say that the final boss fight will offer one of the most unique settings that has ever been seen in a raid encounter in WoW. (…) That will blow some people away . “

So it goes to Shadowlands

More allied races: With Battle for Azeroth, the Allied Races were introduced. These playable races, which in nine out of ten cases only represent variants of previously existing races (such as Dark Iron Dwarfs or High Mountain Tauren / Tauren), must be unlocked by completing Achievements.

The game director ruled out that the pacts appearing in Shadowlands could be introduced as allied peoples – after all, these are extraplanar beings who have nothing to do with the conflict between the Alliance and the Horde.

Nevertheless, players can hope that more Allied Races will follow in the future, because the team wants to “keep this option open” and “consider where it makes sense.”

No new jobs: What you shouldn’t hope for for now, however, are new professions. The current plan is that you want to concentrate on the professions that you already have and first make them more relevant for the endgame – in Shadowlands this is already happening where craftsmen can produce important legendary equipment.

Next expansion: Finally, Hazzikostas confirmed that Shadowlands will not be the last expansion for World of Warcraft. Of course there are no details yet – after all, Shadowlands has not even been released yet. The plans for the next expansion are already underway and work on it may even be underway:

“We’re working on the next raid, the next patch, the next update to continue telling the story of Shadowlands. We’re also starting to plan the next expansion, which is something we’ll talk about sometime later. (…) We share new ones every year Surprises and all of that will be something we’ll discuss at another time. “
