News culture What if: is the Multiverse series hot? The scriptwriter answers
In early July, Marvel unveiled the trailer for the MCU’s first-ever animated series, titled What If. Through the presentation of Uchronia and the integration of the multiverse, the series will explore many possibilities that are currently excluded from the main frame.
Hence it is questionable whether the series What if… ?, based on the 1977 comic book series, will be canonical when compared to the movies and series in the great cinema and television universe of Marvel. We will follow the adventures of Uatu the Guardian, a cosmic being observing the different dimensions over 10 episodes. Each of them will take the MCU as a starting point before drifting to tell a new story of how it would have turned out if something had happened differently
The events of What if …? are weapons. They are part of the MCU multiverse. The multiverse is here. He’s real and he’s absolutely amazing guys.
In reality, the introduction of the multiverse was expected for some time and especially since the announcement of the films Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness and Spider-Man: No way home. The recently released Loki definitely brought the multiverse into the bigger picture. In any case, what if …? asks many questions and we will need wait for Disney + until August 11th to get some answers. As announced, many MCU actors will repeat their roles, like Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Hayley Hatwell as Agent Peggy Carter or Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
