Earlier this week, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc (WWE) announced when calling investors that there will be no new games in the WWE 2K series released this year.
The statement was made by WWE's Chief Financial Officer Frank Riddick during the investor Q & A session. When asked about the new members of the wrestling game series, he said: "There will be no games this year."
Although 2K Games has not commented on WWE's announcement, the series' official Twitter account stated that we can expect some news about the future of the series from April 27 (Monday) (thanks IGN).

Due to countless mistakes and malfunctions, WWE 2K20 is the last game in the series and has been well received by critics and players. It was a mess at the time of the release, and Sony support staff confirmed the problem and started providing player refunds as requested.
The development studio Visual Concepts must work on patching the game, focusing on repairing the character "twisting" or moving unnaturally on the stage.
WWE 2K20 is the first game in the series developed by Visual Concepts, after the original series developer Yuke withdrew to win his wrestling championship.
Since Smackdown in 2000, a game in wrestling has been released every year.
