New patch inspires fans
The number of players alone shows that Update 3.0 is well received by the fans. With partial over 4,000 players at the same time are again the highest since the end of 2018 – before the patch, the number of simultaneous players was a maximum of around 1,000 per day.
But the Steam reviews also indicate that many players now have more fun with X4: Since the patch, there have been numerous new reviews, of which 83 percent positive failed.
For example, Steam user Darkwolf writes:
"Defakto now has X4 the state that I wanted for the release. (…)
For me personally, Egosoft is a great developer who takes care of his game long after release (which is also necessary, because there is generally no Egosoft game that I would recommend in the release version :-)) "
Sheepy is also convinced of Update 3.0:
"The game had its problems with release, but these have now been fixed by numerous updates full of fixes and new functions. So I can now recommend X4 with a clear conscience to anyone who enjoys space and tycoon games. (…)"
However, there are also some negative voices. This is how FrankimSchrank still finds it difficult to get started – despite new tutorials:
"In terms of graphics, the game is not bad at all. But what is really absolutely hell is the controls. Nothing is intuitive or logical. In my opinion, everything is extremely complicated and it takes forever to master the basics. (… ) "
