The upcoming next-gen console Xbox Series X from Microsoft is currently getting a new, rather wild rumor going around. Could the console actually have a PC mode with Steam access?

So far it has always been a clear thing: either you gamble on the PC or you reach for a console like the PS4 or the Xbox One. There are now more and more games with cross-play functionality, but the different platforms differ fundamentally when it comes to accessing distribution platforms and services. According to a new rumor, the upcoming Xbox Series X could possibly change this previously clearly defined state.
The Italian side Game experience Anyway, reports now that the Xbox Series X should get a Windows 10 mode and can be used by it almost like a PC. The new console would no longer just look like a kind of PC tower, but would also offer the corresponding functionalities.
Specifically, it says in this context that the Xbox Series X could then gain access to the popular PC shops Steam and Epic Games Store via the new mode. In addition, gamers on the Xbox Series X would in future be able to buy a whole range of other games that are only available for the PC and not on the console.
