Zenimax Online has a lot to do with The Elder Scrolls Online, but a new IP is already in the works, if not yet announced. Now the studio has gained notable reinforcements.
Creative director Ben Jones proudly announced the addition of Colin Campbell to the team on Twitter, and in fact it should be a little tense. Campbell, who will work as the lead level designer on the new Zenimax Online project, has a pretty illustrious portfolio on his resume.
I'm beyond thrilled to welcome @CCampbellArt to our new AAA team @ZeniMax_Online – He brings a wealth of experience into the Lead Level Designer position that I know will make a major impact on this original IP. Campbell initially worked as Lead World Designer on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning of 38 studios. After their bankruptcy, he went on to Epic Games, where he worked as a level designer on Infinity Blade: Dungeons. The next stop was BioWare. For Mass Effect: Andromeda, he worked as a lead level designer before finally working for EA as a lead narrative designer for Star Wars: Battlefront II and as a producer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
These are really not small names and also not bad games. We are very excited to see if and how Campbell will leave its mark on the new project and, above all, what it is ultimately about.
As a reminder of Campbell's first job, here is a small video:
