JCB Pioneer: Mars, title developed by Atomicom Limited, it's a game of survival located on our neighboring planet Mars. Survive and build what is necessary to prepare the red planet for future human colonization.
Having landed in Nintendo Switch the December 24, 2018, it reaches us a title in early unfinished access, with a resolution and bad textures. Translated into 8 languages, among which is Spanish from Spain, although it is not too different from Latin American.
JCB Pioneer: Mars puts us in a recent accident upon entering the atmosphere of Mars. Our duty is to arrive, in the first instance, at a basic first base that they left behind for some time. Once you have completed a small tutorial, to call it somehow, you will leave us at ease on the red planet, in constantly searching for resources, taking care of our health and having to build a base
Playability
Being a pioneer has never been as lonely as in JCB Pioneer: Mars. Basically we will have to go out to find resources to build and survive. To make it more enjoyable, we will have certain missions basic as: "build a water collector" or "build an oxygen producer". These missions themselves will expand the small tutorial on controlling the principle to survive as much as possible, in addition to learning the most basic.
Mars has become a sandbox limited in areas, according to our technology, to move forward. Unfortunately, we will get tired of the mechanics to survive before feeling more interest in moving forward in the area full of storms and climatic events, which can damage the facilities, which we will have to repair very occasionally.
We understand that the game has been developed together with engineers to give the game all possible realism, within science fiction, but physically the game fits the maximum possible reality. However, none of this helps to take advantage of the title, and less with the current graphics of the game.
Graphics and sound
Unfortunately, it seems that the survival games on Nintendo Switch are not giving in the key, as we have already seen in ARK; Y JCB Pioneer: Mars is no exception. The game has a low resolution, less than 720p, both in portable mode and in TV mode. In addition, the textures are less defined than expected, and not to mention the popping that the game shows in the field.
Out of minimal graphics Presenting, the artistic design is quite striking. A Martian world with reddish hues and varied scenarios, whether underground or on the ground. Too bad the resolution and textures make seeing all this horrible without visual protection.
Do not expect a BSO sublime, it is true that some background music will ever appear, but usually the atmosphere will be accompanied by absolute silence and we will only hear the ambient noise, either calm or storms.
conclusion
JCB Pioneer: Mars it's a title not recommended for our Nintendo Switch. Although the duration, being a survival game, can be long, the title quality is very debatable. Without a story beyond survival, a slow and boring gameplay, and minimal graphics, we believe there are other more interesting titles for Nintendo's hybrid console.
