The Chinese developer miHoYo has updated the official Web site from Genshin Impact with more details about another of the characters that will be available in this installment: Xingqiu.
You can find its description below:
Second son of the Feiyun Trade Guild, Xingqiu has had a reputation for being studious and educated since he was a child. The parents of Liyue Port spoke adoringly of him, secretly hoping that their own children would be as promising as Xingqiu.
But even at a young age, the mild-mannered Xingqiu had a wilder side too. Unbeknownst to his father and older brother, he sat for hours in the classroom reading fiction, having devoured used textbooks and cast martial arts novels inside. After classes, I would go out and explore and find all sorts of little ways to cause harm.
Sometimes his antics ended up involving Feiyun's trade guild in the controversy. Fortunately for Xingqiu, he always managed to avoid guilt by hiding behind an impassable wall of eloquent filibusters. Since no one had what it took to beat him in an argument, eventually people simply learned to endure his eccentricities.
An avid reader, Xingqiu's lifelong dream is to be the real-life embodiment of chivalrous heroes from the pages of his books. For Xingqiu, chivalry is more than a standard of conduct – it is a way of thinking. The most gentlemanly of all are not discouraged by setbacks, nor do they stop to satisfy themselves when things turn out as expected. Instead, their minds are always focused on seizing the next opportunity to advance the cause of compassion and justice.
Despite his young age, Xingqiu has already mastered the chivalrous code and cultivated the eccentric mindset that goes with it. This gave him an ability for the style of martial arts practiced by the Guhua Clan, and he gained some renown for effectively initiating a Guhua revival. However, anxious devotees who flock to the gates of the Guhua Clan in search of the master himself may be disappointed to hear the gatekeeper's awkward response: "The master is in the mountains taking time for himself right now … Maybe I'll try again another day.
