As some of you may well remember, the Kickstarter of The Wonderful 101: Remastered It ended last week after garnering great success among fans. Specifically, Platinum Games managed to raise $ 2.25 million, far exceeding its initial goal of $ 50,000.
To celebrate this success, the game director, Hideki Kamiya has shared a new message via Kickstarter. We leave it translated into Spanish below:
Here Hideki Kamiya, director of The Wonderful 101.
Our Kickstarter campaign has finally come to an end!
Looking back, I confess that I was concerned and excited about finally having the opportunity to discover how many people were interested in a port of a game that came out seven long years ago. In the end, we got more support than I had dreamed of, and I think it has turned into a happy ending for both us and all the sponsors.
The month passed in the blink of an eye. I remember that we first thanked more than 13,000 Kickstarter sponsors who promised us the first 100 million yen, and then enthusiastically watched every day as you all collaborated to help us complete our goals. And on the last day, we were able to share our joy with everyone during the final live. Each day was so exciting and full of fun, and it's kind of sad to think that everything is coming to an end.
During the campaign, I was also able to make a video with Mega64, something I had always dreamed of, and PlatinumGames also had its first booth at PAX. I was concerned if we could actually see enough people come to our booth, and I was happy to see how many people attended our autograph session. In just a month, I have experienced a ton of exceptionally memorable moments, even compared to everything I have experienced during my career so far.
As I explained in the video of my interview, The Wonderful 101 has the highest volume of content of any action game I've ever worked on. When we developed it seven years ago, we just tried to include everything we could in the game, and we always wish we had a chance to polish some of the details. Now, thanks to the support of everyone who participated in this crowdfunding campaign, we have finally had the opportunity to do so, making this remaster the definitive version of the game. Honestly, it looks like a miracle!
This will also be the first game that PlatinumGames publishes on its own. I truly feel from the bottom of my heart that every sponsor who participated in this campaign has become our special ally, unlike any other.
PlatinumGames hopes to continue working on the development of original titles and at the same time grow as an editor. No matter what is in store for us in the future, we will never forget the gratitude we feel to all of those who supported us in starting a new beginning through the Kickstarter campaign for The Wonderful 101: Remastered. We will work hard on each of our games from now on to make sure we always remain a company that you are proud of. Thank you very much for supporting us in this small but important first step.
We still have a lot of work to do, including creating rewards and DLC, but first we want to make sure we offer The Wonderful 101: Remastered to everyone as quickly as possible. Whether you have already played the original game or are trying this game out for the first time, we want to work hard to make sure that everyone can enjoy this special and unique game.
Once again, we would all like to extend a warm and sincere thanks to all of our dear sponsors. You will always have a special place in our hearts!
What do you think of his words? Remember that The Wonderful 101: Remastered will be released on Nintendo Switch and other platforms in May. Are you looking forward to it? You can find our full coverage of the game at this link.
