Welcome to the Box Art Brawl, a series where we throw a rosette and a bunch of regional box art variations on the deck and see which one comes out victorious with a blood prize tied to its chest.
Last week we looked at it Mario Bros. you strive for your own enjoyment and happiness. In a shocking twist, this clever European Union version overcame the old North American box that left Famicom's arcade game in third place. We honestly thought the pixel art cover had a wrap, but that shouldn't be the case. A powerful effort, but it was reduced.
This week we are jumping two generations forward on Nintendo 64 and one of the best descriptions of the best game ever made with Konami ISS 64. This game is a particular favorite at the Nintendo Life office that we are constantly burning not only with its silk game, but also with excellent delivery its a good commentator. The commentator jumps quickly from calm to MOSTLY drawn to the helmet – the middle of the paragraph – as the lines quickly merge between your play. Team names are highlighted by something, especially when "GREECE!" or "BRAZIL!" he is exalted. It has no price and we wouldn't have it otherwise.
Enough of this banter, let's undo things.
"Welcome to this live radio. This is great football weather."
Europe
"First kick … "
Leaving the traditional black border of the European PAL boxes, ISS 64 begins firmly with the united international team on the cover. The logo has the old school Sky Sports feel of a lot of color and impact. The image itself is so powerful and puts you right on the field, it looks like a goal boots as this flow of blood draws you to play.
Throw in a full field and this team has some great practices. The & # 39; KONAMI & # 39; red left are a little lost, but Europe is out fighting this effort.
"YES! Amazing cover! Will you take a gun? You shot it the first time !!!"
Japan
"Ability to finish, there!"
Referring to Japan, here we have the original Jikkyou J.League Striker Perfect, a game that was released in December 1996 and built the foundation of ISS 64 that we know and love before it is converted to the west. Now, it should be noted that ISS 64 he turned back to Japan in the form of Jikkyou Soccer Soccer 3
So, in a real sense Japan has two types of ISS 64, the lucky ones . We chose to go with the original Per Striker because 1] players from this JohnLearl licensed cover have just been re-released for the Europeans, so that puts a good analogy, and 2] we get the faces of the players unlocked cover of Jikkyou World Soccer 3 even less thoughtful than these automatons. Please feel free to register any complaints or concerns regarding the indirect planning of the integrity of this sacred video game boxing contest in the comments They will he insisted diligently and those from last week.
"THE FINAL SAYS AGAIN!"
Once again, we find players from different teams together, even though they are sitting in the dark, the title is still a bit off. & # 39; KONAMI & # 39; it is white at this time and has come out in several. Overall, it's another decent effort, but has it done enough to watch the race?
"This could be a chance!
North America
"Go sailing straight … Right."
Ah! The North American cover is worthless otherwise it is out of focus. It has a football manager on it and you won't miss a title on this one. You find the standard red stripe down the side of the lid with the corner pushed back with the & # 39; For For Nintendo 64 & # 39; only. It's easy to overlook, but this actually features the player as part of the Nintendo Sports logo in the upper left corner.
Not much else to say, actually. Not at all ours favorite, but we're not voters, are we?
"WHAT THE WAY!"
"You have players waiting for the cross! You set the ball high. WHAT A DREAM!"

"Let's see that again."
"And there it is, it's full time! Amazing victory for …" We'll catch you next week for Box Art Brawl # 30.
