Flintlock: Siege of Dawn Since the moment it was revealed, it has been looking very exciting. Today, developer A44 is unhappy with what inspired the game’s world design and how a small team created such detailed characters and environments.
The developers based Flintlock’s original fantasy open world in its native New Zealand. The game has three main distinct areas, each offering a new environment inspired by beautiful country regions – from deep caves to mountain peaks.
Rewarding exploration was the A44’s main goal when designing the flintlock world, so it won’t just look pretty. The A44 went a step further, adding detail to every aspect of the game presentation, relying on Unreal Engine’s MetaHuman Creator to design believable characters.
The gods you’ll be facing are also shown a bit in the video above. There aren’t many of them, though, so A44 wants to make every encounter unique.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action RPG set in a world where humans must confront the gods and their armies. With its “gunpowder and axe combat” blending two distinct styles, the A44 promises demanding action while still allowing for creative combinations. On your journey, you will be accompanied by the Enki, a magical dog-like creature.
Flintlock launches on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S (including Game Pass) sometime this year. You can also wishlist it on Steam.
