To commemorate the closure of the closed beta phase of Genshin Impact, the producer of the game, Hugh tsai, has shared a message offering many details about the project and promising that the studio will take into account all the opinions of the fans to improve the final product.
You can find his message below:
Dear Travelers,
I am Hugh Tsai, the producer of Genshin Impact.
I want to start by sincerely thanking each of you for joining our closed beta, giving us feedback, and being part of our community. Since March 18, we have been together in Teyvat for over three weeks. I am really excited to see the great videos you made on YouTube. I've been following your discussion on our forums, Facebook, Reddit, Discord and Naver (we try to read everything). As game developers, nothing makes us happier than having a community of gamers who wants to help you make a better game.
This is the first time I have tried to speak to you directly. English is my second language, so if you find that some expressions are a bit weird, I apologize! My hope is that by communicating with our players, we can all make Genshin Impact a better game together (and also help improve my English as soon as possible). It is important for me and the team to listen to our players from all over the world, who grew up in different cultures. I believe that this cultural diversity in our community can help us build a more interesting and epic world. No matter how different we are or what time zone we are in, we can all have fun at Genshin Impact.
We are a young team, but we are always learning. Genshin Impact started as a project out of passion three years ago. We now have 500 internal developers working on this project.
I am often asked if it is an MMORPG. I think the key difference in Genshin Impact is that the world belongs to YOU. You decide how you want to play: as an adventure for a player who experiences alone, or who invites others to venture together.
Some of the comments we received during our closed beta version were that there was not enough content after 50 hours of play. We believe in continuing to support our games in the long term. From the beginning, our goal was to make Teyvat a great immersive world that can be explored and that grows and evolves over time. We will continue to work hard to create new adventures, new ways to play (dungeons, daily missions, multiplayer). We are also working on a new feature called the national system (more details coming soon).
While we wanted to focus on the main game in this closed beta, some players asked about the Genshin Impact monetization. Genshin Impact will eventually be released as a free game and we want it to be player friendly and fair. We will keep you updated once we have more confirmed details.
The closed beta test is coming to an end, and it is also a new starting point for our team. We have a lot to do. Thanks again to all the travelers and we are very grateful for all your comments. Genshin Impact is a very special project for us (and for me personally) and we hope you can join this adventure with us to do something new. Something out of this world. Something out of the imagination.
—Hugh
