Xbox CEO Phil Spencer recently appeared on the unveiled IGN podcast to talk about the company's upcoming plans for the planet of their powerful generation, the Xbox Series X. Talk finally got in touch with the company's rel ationship with Nintendo and how much the Xbox team agreed to bring some of its Franchise to Nintendo Switch.
“The relationship with Nintendo is very good. Doug Bowser and I talk a lot. Furukawa-san, the CEO of Nintendo and I, knew each other well and had a conversation.
I will say that each IP through IP on different platforms, I can see that it can get kind of confusing to customers over time. We have been reading. Some of these are some of our development partners who have always wanted to do this, and we want to support the aspirations of our creative talent, so some of this has been led by partners. But I think a lot about what Xbox fully means on different platforms.
Right now it looks like when any game goes out, & # 39; Is this one coming here? Is this one going there? & # 39; And I can set expectations for the Xbox level of our fans where things are going. I thought we did that on our first party when we talked about posting games on the Xbox and PC, I did get some returns from certain groups on that, but at least we set expectations for that, and I would rather see that come to that point in the different types of hardware we have. So I guess I'll just leave it there.
I definitely have a ton of respect for the role played by Nintendo, and I love having great games on their platform. But I don't really like the idea that throughout our game, there is this little rumor about whether or not it will end up in the Switch, and I feel that we should put better trust with our fans instead. ”
