After some images were leaked in line, it is believed that Google is planning the launch of a new Pixel mobile which would receive the name Pixel XE. But what about this strange new addition to the Pixel family?
In this article, we’ve put together all the information we know about the Pixel XE, along with all the rumors floating around about its launch date, possible price, and what specs it would have.
Launch: when will the Google Pixel XE be released?
Let’s be absolutely clear: the Pixel XE has not yet been confirmed. Its appearance in the tech industry rumor universe was due to the photos the Twitter account leaked SlashLeaks.
Typically, Google showcases its new Pixel devices in late September or mid-October, with an occasional mobile launch outside of that window, at the Google I / O Developer Conference.
In recent years, here is the release schedule:
- Google Pixel 3: October 18, 2018
- Google Pixel 3a: May 1, 2019
- Google Pixel 4: October 15, 2019
- Google Pixel 4a: October 1, 2020
- Google Pixel 4a 5G: November 19, 2020
- Google Pixel 5: September 30, 2020
With the Pixel XE not being announced at Google I / O in 2021, you’d think it’s a head-to-toe new device and wouldn’t arrive until next fall. , being announced alongside the Pixel 6 or Pixel 5a. .
Price: how much will the Google Pixel XE cost?
Again, the price of the Pixel XE is purely speculative. In fact, the list of components and materials that will be used in this new mobile is unknown, which would help determine the price. We don’t even know if this is a real project either.
The Google Pixel 4a was priced at $ 389 when it launched. Although the Pixel 5 hasn’t gone on sale in Europe, in countries like France it costs $ 629. This is also the case with the Pixel 4a 5G, which cost $ 499 at launch and now costs $ 429.
Unless the Pixel XE becomes an even more mobile phone premium, it will likely be priced as high as the Pixel 5. However, it is highly unlikely to cost less than the very affordable Pixel 4a.
Specifications: What features will the Google Pixel XE have?
With hardly any information at hand about the possible Pixel XE, the only clues we have are in the leaked images we mentioned earlier.
As you can see in the image below, SlashLeaks announced that a new device, called Pixel XE, will have an eight-core processor, a dual SIM slot and will run Android 11.

It’s not really revolutionary, as all current models have it thanks to the eSIM capability introduced with the Pixel 3a. But that was to be expected given the way Google configures its Pixel devices.
There are also additional images showing a physical device which is said to be the Pixel XE. Now considering that you can change the name of any Android, that doesn’t assure us anything.

SlashLeaks posted several other images of the mysterious device, but nothing major. It is only with the information we have of its specifications that we cannot draw too many conclusions.
Another interesting change is that the mobile would have a camera in the center of the top part of the screen, instead of in the top left corner, where the lens is located in the current Pixels. Because? We don’t know, but at least that makes him different.
There are already those who claim that this is all a lie and that they used the body of another Android mobile to which they added an edited code to show what is on the screen. We cannot rule it out because we know very little about it.
Whether it’s real or not, we’ll certainly not know more about the Pixel XE until later, when Google supposedly announces it later in the year. We’re also not sure how it will compare to the Pixel 6. Check out this article for the latest information.
