In addition to the SATA power supply connectors, some connectors have a series of male or female contacts that connect to other contacts on the device we are connecting to. Because of this, it's not unusual that if you disconnect – or in some cases even try to connect – another one cables come out of the connector and we are compelled to fix the cable ourselves.
Fortunately and especially since this is a frequent occurrence, it is easy to fix it.
How to fix the outgoing connector
The first thing to do, obviously, is to fit the cable out of the connector with the hole it has to go through. It is best to hold with all the other cables in the correct position, on the other hand hold the connector so that when pressing it does not go too far.
When you have moved the cord and the hole you have to go in, press it by pressing the cable with your fingers until it stops. Once done, all you have to do is look at a small sized screwdriver (star is better, especially if it has a tip) or a little TORX with no tip. Now it's about to end press the roof part of the screwdriver on the metal part of the connector until it reaches the correct position. You will notice that there is a small step, and when you pass it you will know that you can still get out, taking care not to damage the cable, screwdriver.
If you are a MOLES connector, you will have enough space to do it differently. Instead of installing a screwdriver or similar by using the part where the wires come in, you can do it to turn in the opposite direction and pull the connector. with little tweezers (like cutting, for example). If you do, be careful not to overuse the connector with tweezers as it can damage it.
Where is each wire inside the connector?
There are connectors where additional holes come, or you may have crossed several cables and you do not know which one they are going to, so next we will install some systems where you can see how each cable goes to the standard connector in providing electricity.
MOLEX 4 pin and Floppy connector
For colorless cables to identify each of the cables, you must be guided by their position. It's complicated in some ways, but with a little patience you can point them out.
PCI-Express connector
In this case it is much simpler due to the design of the connectors, but if you have to configure the cable from the PCI-Express source, it is best to check the source directory provision itself.
24 ATX connector
This is the most complex, and if the strings can be pointed in colors you can have a really big problem. Check the electrical manual to make sure you're healthy.
EPS (4 + 4 pins)
In this case it's very simple, since all the connectors on the side of the connector clip are +12V, while all the front panel is GND (ground).
