AMD DirectML Media Filters: Simple and Easy
The first thing we have to do is go to our AMD driver, where we just opened up where we will have a windows that look similar or similar (depending on its type) on it.
The next step is to go to the game section and within this section to go to the media menu.
Usually, we have nothing to show in this section, not if we didn't take screenshots or videos with AMD resources or if we didn't convert the original folder into one as we liked.
So, we have to tell the driver from where we want to import a particular image or video. Through them we go to the supplement section of the media, as can be seen in the picture below.
Here we will import videos or photos from any program folder, without any restrictions.
We uploaded two random photos and a video clip. At this point there are two things to keep in mind. The first is that AMD DirectML Media filters only work with these file extensions:
- JPEG, PNG, GIF, MP4 and MKV.
- AVC, HEVC, AAC and OPUS.
The second assumption is that if the driver finds that the image or video cannot improve with its algorithm, it will not allow us to proceed with the next steps, as we will see below.
When a video or photo / image is selected, the pencil should appear as shown in the screenshot below. If this doesn't happen then the algorithm will not be able to improve its quality and spend.
In our case we click on edit to access the next section.
Here we only select the video cut we want, whether it is perfect or not. It allows us to choose precise seconds when deciding to cut, end the video and sometimes the (not all) format.
There are a few options to simplify the whole process
Once you have selected all of the above, we will only need to provide you with a rescue and the driver will work his magic.
When the upgrade process is complete, the driver himself will notify us that it is complete and we can look at the changes he has made from file to folder and folder.
Here we can see the changes. To the left of the original video, to the right is the video where it has passed through AMD DirectML Media Filters. The sharpness and contrast improvements are clear, and that we started on the 480p resolution of the number of years the original video was.
Obviously, the worse the image and video quality, the better the algorithm's performance. It's hard to capture the high quality of a photo taken with a good camera and 4K than that 1080p mobile phone.
The same case of the video, that is, if the file is already loaded with too much serial quality, we may not see the improvement or directly that the driver is not giving us the option to use the file because it has nothing to contribute.
