Samsung and WD NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD storage on sale

The Boss November 26, 2020 No Comments

Remember we have a showcase with a selection of all the best hardware deals during Black Friday, don’t hesitate and take a look:

WD Blue SN550 500 GB

WD Blue SN550

Despite the fact that the WD Blue product line is the manufacturer’s entry level, this SSD uses the PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe interface and delivers performance to match, with a read speed of up to 2400MB / s and 1950 MB / s write speed. It is in M.2 2280 format, the most standard of those used on PCs, so you will have no problem installing it into any M.2 socket on your motherboard.

This model uses 3D NAND memory chips with a durability of 300 TBW and a 3 year warranty, which means you can write 82 GB per day every day for 10 years before it runs out of durability (also note that on average one PC gaming writes 30GB per day, so you won’t run out of it much unless you use it for other more demanding tasks)

Right now, the Black Friday deal on these WD Blue SN550 SSDs is 30%, making them the cheapest PCIe 3.0 SSDs on the market for the duration of the deal.

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB

If you are looking for higher performance, with the same interface (PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe) and the same form factor (M.2 2280), you have this Samsung alternative, also in capacity of 500 GB but with speeds up to 3500 MB / s read and 3300 MB / s write, much higher than the previous one although it is also much more expensive. Despite that, this 500GB model’s offer is 43% off, so it’s a great opportunity, especially if you have a SATA 3 SSD and want a performance jump.

This solid-state device has a durability of 300 TBW but its warranty is 5 years, so you can write on it, as in the previous one, 82 GB per day every day for 10 years until its durability is exhausted. You’ll hardly get there, as the V-NAND chips Samsung uses in this SSD have a reputation for being quite durable.

HardZone uses affiliate links for these offers which provide a small commission, but in no case will this cost the user making the purchase. By purchasing through these links you are helping us keep working.
