SilverStone Permafrost PF360W and PF240W, AIO liquid cooling

The Boss October 30, 2020 No Comments

These are two AIO fluid coolers that do not need to be maintained by the user, as the tube equipment and installation prevent the rise in refrigerator fluid and, although the manufacturer gives them only two years warranty, states that they can work for ten years without any problem at all.

We have two models, PF360W with 360mm radiator and PF240W with 240mm radiator. Both radiators are made of aluminum, while the CPU block is made with a copper base and a plastic cover. Everything is painted in a clear white color, including rubber tubes and in fact the included fans (SilverStone Air Blazer 120RW) are white.

The CPU block inserts the pump, and features a bright ARGB decoration on the top that displays the product logo, ice cubes. Installed fans (two in the 240 mm model and three in the 360 mm model) also have ARGB lighting on their axis, and this time they do not have their own control software but use those of motherboards, compatible with ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte, AORUS, MSI and Biostar. Includes ARGB body control with buttons that allow you to change the colors and effects of both fans and background.

This CPU block incorporates a two-chamber technology that, according to the manufacturer, separates the heat from the cold liquid to maximize cooling efficiency. The pump car operates in three stages with the design of six coils, which allows it to be much quieter than the car used in previous models. In addition, SilverStone has provided the foundation with 0.2mm small water channels to improve cooling capacity.

Availability and price

SilverStone has not yet disclosed the exact price or date of the acquisition of the two AIO liquid cooling systems, but said it would be available “soon” (possibly November 2020) at the same retail price from which the original, black models came out. This means that Permafrost PF240W will cost $99, while the PF360W model will cost $129, placing them as one of the cheapest heatsinks with a 360mm radiator on the market.

We can find them in general stores and distributors of product type, including Amazon.
