The 92nd Academy Awards will kick off on Sunday night, with a hostel ceremony and three hours ending with the Best Photo Oscar. Nine films nominated for that top honor treat these games in historical drama (1917, Irishman, Ford v. Ferrari) and other dark comics history (Jojo Rabbit, Once Upon A Time … in Hollywood) bite in class (The lungs), a pornographic divorce picture (The Story of Marriage), and a new definition of classical literature (Young Women). Also Joker.
While streaming services have made it easy to watch Oscar movies (two Netflix nominees are in the States), it's still a daunting task to get ahead of the festival. We did the math – these movies could add up to 21 and a half hours during the entire run.
If you love watching movies in a dark room surrounded by strangers, several theater chains, including AMC, Regin Cinemas, again Alamo Drafthouse they host special Oscars shows. AMC even works with 24 hours of excellent photo on Saturday. However, Alamo Drafthouse the only major metal that will draw all nine nominees; AMC and Regal refused to show films that did not receive the traditional release of the original, i.e. Oscar movies on Netflix. (Alamo is also visible a few Oscar summaries, such as Farewell, Hustlers, again Do not remove Stones.)
But for those who may be entering into the comfort of their own home, there is coverage. Apart from the films that are still in their first run of the movie (1917
Matt Damon and Christian Bale are perfectly compared to the design of the boys car race Carroll Shelby and curmudgeonly driver Ken Miles in the film based on Ford Motors & # 39; s attempt to build a French 24 hour French race car win. An old father's movie suggested by James Mangold's strange directing and a sense of attachment to him in The-Man.

An Irishman A showcase of talent beyond its play, starring some of the most compelling hitmakers (Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Al Pacino), as well as potential actors De De Niros or the Pacinos (Bobby Cannavale, Jesse Plemons, Anna Paquin). Yes, Martin Scorsese's three-and-a-half-hour epics are based on a criminal memo I've heard you paint houses it is immoral and follows. And it's Scumese & # 39; s magnum opus. Both the commentary and the conclusion of the mafia movies that Scorsese is famous for, An Irishman it condemns the criminal lifestyle of any seduction of love. The ten-year-old plot shows how a few of the casualties end up being old and empty.

Jojo Rabbit
Thor: Ragnarok Director Taika Waititi has taken liberties when she agrees with Christine Leunens' book about Jojo, a 10-year-old Hitler Youth member, who tends to Elsa, a Jewish girl whose mother secretly hides in their walls. For one thing, the movie ends with the collapse of the Third Reich, while Jojo's novel allows Elsa to believe that the war is still long after the end of the Nazi war. Sinditi also blocks Jojo's unlikely friend: Adolf Hitler's animation played by Winditi himself. It's labeled as "satire anti-hate", JoJo Rabbit a darker black joke with the elimination of white nationalism, however critics are divided whether that message is sharp or colored.

With Joker, Director Todd Phillips is determined to make the character type of character mysterious, like The taxi driver either Serpico, that you believe is no longer being built without the attachment attached. (As revenge for that assertion, you see Do not remove Stones.) What we found instead was a comic book movie that says you're trying hard not to be a comedy movie that says you end up saying nothing.
Admittedly, Joaquin Phoenix's team performance as aspiring promoter Arthur Fleck is hard to watch from a distance, and every movie is worth watching at least to participate in a dialogue that will follow improperly if Phoenix wins the Great Artist, which seems unlikely.

Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's beloved novel brings a fresh perspective on the 150th anniversary. Instead of recounting the lives of Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Beth (Eliza Scanlen), Amy (Florence Pugh), and Meg (Emma Watson) respectively, Gerwig jumps back and forth between her baby sister March and her age. With this new format, Gerwig highlights the themes he wants to convey: the woman's desire, plot, and anger, even adding another ending to the "happy" novel.
Gerwig brings a strong, tender performance to all of his players, but Ronan and Pugh are as bright as Jo and Amy, revealing new aspects of their vibrant collegiate relationship.

As their husband and wife are investigating divorce, Adam Driver and Scarklett Johansson run an emotional march on Noah Baumach & # 39; s The Story of Marriage. They laugh, cry, scream, and sing songs from Sondheim's dangerous nude music, all while guarding themselves behind shark lawyers (Laura Dern and Ray Liotta).
Although Baumbach tries to portray divorce as a tragic, tragic process with no heroes or poor people, Driver's character receives more attention. That is understandable, though The Story of Marriage It seems at least encouraged by Baumbach's split from Jennifer Jason Leigh's split.

With one shot following two British military drills during the WWI era there is no human land to send an emergency message to another unit, 1917 more marvelous of technology than contemplating the horrors of war. Director Sam Mendes (The Rebel Road, sky fall) and cinematologist Roger Deakins (No Country for Old Men, sky fall) they are just as magical as they combine seam pieces together for long shots. While one tactic is not a new art, it is used to create a specific effect here: Mendes wanted to highlight the long and traumatic side of the human journey, based on the stories heard by his WWI-vet grandmother.

The beautiful performances by Jang Hye-jin, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-Dam, and the collaboration with Bong colleague Long Kang-ho keep Kim's working-class family at the center of the feeling of being low, even if the plot remains mysterious.
