In one Letter posted to the community yesterdayMax Shaefer, the founder of Echtra, said goodbye to the players and the game his team had developed.
“As you may have heard on the news, we were taken over by Zynga on March 2nd. As a result of this transition, we are moving on to new (and exciting) things and will be handing the baton back to our partners at Perfect World. We absolutely enjoyed our time with Torchlight III and only hope for the best for the future of the franchise. We are grateful for the opportunity to have worked on it. In addition, we are very grateful to all of you who took this trip with us. “
So this is it. Echtra goes on and there is no word on which studio Perfect World will tap to pick up the torch Torch III. But hey, at least we have pirate necromancers.
