It seems like only yesterday when Valve announced a trilogy of expansions for its hugely popular 2004 PC game Half-life 2. But it actually happened that way 15 years since Episode 3 got introduced. And while Valve has since released a new one Half a life Game, it wasn’t what the developer announced in 2006.

15 years later and the trilogy is still ongoing. And it never will. Or at least it won’t be packed like Valve originally planned.
Valve has long since moved away from the episodic format. For most of the past 15 years, the company seemed to have moved on too Half a life. But last year we finally got a new game. The virtual reality title Half-life: alyx

No massive spoilers, however Alyx in its own way closes part of the episodic narrative that remained unfinished afterwards Half-life 2: episode 2ends. And it even seems to be teasing a possible next Half-Life game. So who knows, maybe we’ll finally get one in a couple of years Half-life 3 or Episode 3 or which version of three Valve chooses.
