Switch Pro or not, Nintendo still had the most people watching its E3 2021 presentation. Nintendo garnered 3.1 million viewers for its nearly 40-minute presentation, according to yesterday’s tweet from Stream Hatchet, a data analytics company specializing in video game streaming.
Despite being one of the shorter showcases, Nintendo beat the competition and gained 800,000 viewers at the joint Xbox / Bethesda conference, which was the second-highest presentation with a modest 2.3 million viewers. Presenting highly anticipated titles like Breath of the Wild 2
And while Nintendo’s viewership was high, it could have been higher if the company hadn’t killed much of the hype at the last minute. Nintendo tweeted this just hours before its presentation it banned co-streams of its presentation on Twitch. In response, and seemingly out of solidarity with streamers, Twitch said it would not host the stream on its Twitch Gaming channel. Though Nintendo lost the eyes a channel like Twitch Gaming could deserve, Nintendo managed to get the highest viewership of the event.
Nintendo also tried to keep expectations more realistic by focusing only on software (no reading Switch Pro) and mostly on 2021 releases. But the rumors of an improved switch on the horizon (the did not materialize), a leak of a new one Mario + Rabbids Game and the general anticipation of titles already in the works proved too enticing.

Still, winning all of those eyeballs didn’t mean an award for Nintendo. Instead, ESA, the parent company of E3 excellent Best presentation of E3 2021 at Microsoft / Bethesda conference and called ridiculously pretty Xbox game Force 5 horizons.
That was a strange E3. Sony and EA, once massive E3 presences, skipped the event entirely and instead opted to host independent events later in the year. The gaming industry is also still suffering from the effects of the global pandemic. Flagship games like Halo infinite, are lagging as companies are still trying to manage the Covid-19 disruption.
Unfortunately, no word on that yet Bayonetta 3
