Sledgehammer Games developed in 2017 Call of Duty: World War II, the first Call of Duty game to be played mainly during this conflict since 2008 World at war. Sledgehammer founders Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey have since left the studio to found Striking Distance Studios in Krafton and the 31st Union in 2K.
Publisher Activision hasn’t officially announced this year’s Call of Duty entry other than saying that “another strong premium release is planned for the fourth quarter of 2021”.
