DC Comics and the Japanese publisher Kodansha are working together on a new gourmet comic called Superman vs. Meshi: Superman no Hitori Meshi or Superman vs. Food: Meal for One. The man of steel flies around in it and eats lunch in various restaurants in Japan.
[Full disclosure: Kodansha published my first two books.]
According to the official announcement, Satoshi Miyagawa is writing the comic while it is being drawn by Kai Kitago. Miyagawa is best known for having that Space battleship Tiramisu Manga that has been adapted into a manga.
This is the third collaboration between DC and Kodansha. Previously, the two teamed up for Batman Justice Buster
The second collaboration was Wanope Joker or One Operation Joker in which the villain saves a baby Bruce Wayne.

It’s interesting to see the takes of manga writers and artists because they feel so different. Superman flying around eating Japanese food? Looking good with dashing mangas? Count me. I am totally interested.
The upcoming foodie hero comic will appear in Manga magazine on June 22nd Eve, with the first chapter about 30 pages. It will also be available through the publisher’s Comic Days website.
