Due to the widespread problems with PlayStation Network on PlayStation Vita, gamers were unable to download or transfer games to the handheld for almost 24 hours. Kotaku I contacted Sony earlier in the day for more information but got no response before it was published.

The first sign of a problem was sent to r / Vita subreddit Late last night when user mynameispotato92 created a thread about the issues they were having while downloading a previously purchased game from the system’s PlayStation Store app.

“I went to the download [Ys Origin] on Vita and it wouldn’t let me give me the error code NP-2245-3 because I can’t connect [PlayStation Network] within the deadline ” The contribution is.

Since then this post is and another just likes it were inundated with comments from other Vita owners who couldn’t download their digital games. ONE similar thread was published this morning on the game forum ResetEra and found that the transfer of games from PlayStation 3 to Vita was also buggy. Testing through Kotaku issued the PlayStation Store issue several times during the day.

In October, Sony sent a wave of concern through the Vita community when all Vita, PS3 and PSP content has been removed The mobile and web versions of the PlayStation Store do not offer the convenience of buying and managing new games for older systems. Many interpreted this as a warning sign that the company’s support for these platforms may be discontinued.

And now that Vita downloads have stopped, digital property concerns have increased for Vita owners who are now struggling to make purchases or download games they have already purchased.

It is unclear what all of this means. Chances are, it’s just a passing bug on PlayStation Network. RPG site Staff writer James Galizio recently featured on Twitter that the PSP can still access its download list;; Kotaku could not independently verify this. Besides, he correctly noted that the nifty but star-crossed Vita in Japan still sees a lot of game releases. So that’s a good sign.

Unfortunately, it looks like Vita owners will stay in the dark until Sony says something about the problem. We hope it will be resolved and the Vita Store app and PS3 transfer feature will continue to work in the future.
