Apex Legends reveals its latest event that will add Skull Town as an Arenas map and bring back the original World’s Edge map.
Apex Legends will get Skull Town as a temporary Arenas map thanks to the upcoming Genesis Collection Event. This limited-time Apex Legends event will come with the usual new themed cosmetics, as well as a new set of relics for Revenant, but will also bring back the original Kings Canyon and World’s Edge Battle Royale maps for the duration of the event.
Skull Town was a fan favorite on the original Kings Canyon map due to its size and potential for mayhem in the early stages of Battle Royale matches. It was destroyed in Apex Legends season 5 when Loba blew up an underground facility containing Revenant’s source code and fans have been wanting to see him return ever since.
With the Genesis Collection Event, Skull Town will be added as an Arena map that appears in one-hour increments in the normal Arena map rotation. Typically Arena maps rotate every 15 minutes from a group of three maps that changes every two weeks. Skull Town is a large area that is dominated by small, narrow huts on the outskirts and tall buildings in the middle, allowing players at the top to choose to control the high ground or fortify a building below.
While there won’t be a new limited-time game mode like with previous collectible events, Genesis will add map takeovers that bring back the Kings Canyon release version of Apex Legends and the original World’s Edge when it was introduced in the season. 3 along with Crypto. . The maps will take over Trios and Duos and rotate hourly. Olympus will remain the map for ranked mode.
In Kings Canyon, the new season 8 crash site area will disappear and major locations like Skull Town, Cascades, and Bridges will return. By World’s Edge, the Harvester will be gone, Capitol City will no longer be fragmented, and the loot train is back.
The Genesis Collection event, which starts on June 29 and ends on July 13, adds a lot of new cosmetics, balance changes, and various quality of life changes as well. The event is themed to return to the past with ancient maps and skins showing the Legends in their previous lives before they joined the Apex Games.
Respawn introduced the massive Legacy update for Apex Legends almost two months ago that brought Valkyrie, an updated Olympus map, and the new Arenas map. Since then, there has been a minor content drought while players waited for an event, so Genesis came at the perfect time. Apex Legends players should keep an eye out for EA Play 2021 for potentially more Apex Legends news.
Apex Legends is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
