Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment has officially released a new Stories from the Outlands short, “Northstar,” featuring the reveal of the latest legend to hit the popular free-to-play video game Valkyrie. She is the daughter of the famous Titan pilot Viper, and seems to be joining the Apex Games as a way to prove herself. As expected, it looks like the upcoming season 9 will be heavily focused on bringing more flavor of the Titanfall franchise to the video game, as the short includes the franchise’s Kuben Blisk and a Northstar Titan. Additionally, the ending indicates that Season 9 will begin on May 4.
Exactly what kind of kit Valkyrie will have remains to be seen, but the short and official artwork for “Northstar” points to her having some sort of reconfigured version of a Northstar Titan as part of her kit. Given his callsign and the fact that much of the short is about flying overhead, it seems fair to assume that his various abilities will include something to that effect as well.
In case you somehow missed it, Respawn Entertainment has been teasing some sort of Titanfall-related content into season 9 for some time now. Several leaks have pointed to big map changes looming in the new season, and there have already been plenty of teases for Valkyrie, the new Legend who will join the popular free Battle Royale video game when Season 9 launches on May 4.
Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC and is in the middle of Season 8: Mayhem. Season 9 appears to be scheduled to release on May 4 with the new legend, Valkyrie.
