Bethesda shared The first trailer for The Ancient Gods 2, the second part of the DOOM Eternal expansion. In addition, they have promised to share the full trailer for March 17, so we imagine that the release date is not too far, especially considering that on March 20 the game celebrates its first anniversary.
The Ancient Gods is part of the Deluxe Edition and the Year One Pass, which suggests that these are just the additions that the game will receive in its first year, so there will be more content in the future. This first year of DOOM Eternal has been an excellent one for the id Software game with several nominations for major awards and the consensus of what is one of the best shooters of recent years.
End of expansion
The Ancient Gods continues the story in which we visit ancient locations in search of an object that ends up awakening a supreme evil (spoilers below). The first part ends with the Doom Slayer discovering his alter ego who will become the antagonist in the second part.
That was implied by the title and today’s teaser trailer confirms it by showing us this second Slayer in combat armor and fighting alongside demons to finish off the player. The latter seems to be not alone since in conceptual art he is accompanied by the sentinels of Argent D’Nur.
In addition, we know that this new DLC will add new enemies and weapons, since we could see demons with armor, yellow plasma shields and the protagonist Slayer with a hammer instead of the sword that we had used in the base game.
The Ancient Gods 2 will have its full trailer this Wednesday, November 17, and is rumored to be released by the end of the month on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
